The Moms Association offers the Amelia Alpiner Stern Mom of the Year award, the Humanitarian Service award, the Illini Spirit award, the Medallion of Honor, and the Moms Association Scholarship. These awards are presented during Moms Weekend.
Named for the founder of the Moms Association, the Amelia Alpiner Stern Mom of the Year award recognizes the support, encouragement, and inspiration that moms and/or mother figures offer their students. The award highlights the diverse contributions of all Illinois mothers and mother figures and honors a very special Mom each year with a small token of appreciation.

The bronze Medallion of Honor was created in 1966 to pay tribute to people who, by example and service, used their talents to enrich the lives of others. Since 1977, this award has been bestowed upon a woman affiliated with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It is, in fact, the most prestigious award presented by the Moms Association at the University of Illinois.
The Moms Association invites you to submit nominations, limited to women of current or past affiliation with the University of Illinois who, through example and/or service, have used their talents to enrich the lives of others. This is an opportunity to congratulate a talented woman in your department or bring the achievements of one of your graduates to the attention of a wide and varied audience.

A valid nomination must include the following: (1) the nominee’s biographical information and (2) two letters of support. All documents must be submitted via the form at this address.

The Illini Spirit award was created in 2008 to provide financial support to programs and projects that contribute to the safety, health, development and achievement of University of Illinois students. The recipient receives $2,000 toward their program or project.
The Moms Association at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is soliciting requests for funding proposals to be awarded in the spring of 2019 for their Illini Spirit Award. The Moms Association is looking for proposals that promote the growth and development of the students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The recipient will receive a monetary donation of $2,000 to be used to support the event and/or program submitted in the proposal.

This merit scholarship award of $1,000 is for a full-time undergraduate University of Illinois student who has successfully completed at least 24 college credit hours. Scholarships are awarded based on Campus involvement, Campus Honors and Awards, and their potential to positively impact the University of Illinois. This award is determined on a competitive basis and requires the submission of an application form, an essay, and a letter of recommendation from someone at the University of Illinois, and transcript (s).

Are you a graduate or undergraduate student that has found an innovative way and utilized it to significantly benefit our local community? The Moms Association will present the Humanitarian Service award to one graduate student and one undergraduate student. The award includes a $500.00 monetary award to a winning student and $500.00 grant to the winning student’s organization of choice for this outstanding service. The nomination deadline is February 15, 2019.
